AI Classify reaches general availability this month, TDM gets a Docker image, and we’ve added a few things you’ve been asking for. 

AI Classifcation: now generally available and on by default 

AI classification (previously Data Scanning) is now GA. It scans your actual data values with machine learning to find PII that rule-based classification misses: dates stored as integers, credit card numbers in free-text columns, patterns that column names alone won’t reveal - without your data leaving your environment. 

From this release, AI classification runs on every new database model by default. Connect a database and classification results are already waiting. No setup, no toggling features on. 

We retrained the ML model too. It handles a broader set of column types, with fewer false positives. If you’re masking data to meet GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS requirements, AI-powered PII classification is now one less thing to configure. 

Your data never leaves your environment. The ML model runs locally, and none of your data is used to train models. Classification happens on your infrastructure, with your data staying exactly where it is. 

TDM now runs in Docker 

Redgate Test Data Manager is available as a Docker container alongside the Windows installer. If your team runs containerized infrastructure or wants TDM in a CI/CD pipeline, this is the deployment path. 

Configure with environment variables (prefixed TDM__) and mount a volume for persistent data. You can skip the setup wizard by setting environment variables at launch.

Set timeouts on database connections so long-running masking or subsetting operations don’t fail silently. 

Connection duplication 

Duplicate a connection to set up similar environments faster. The new connection pre-populates from the source.
