Guest post

This is a guest post from Maxime Drobot.

This month we’re bringing you official GitHub Actions for Redgate Flyway, usability improvements in Flyway Desktop, and a look at what’s new, what’s in preview. Plus: earlier visibility of code‑review results, helping teams keep quality high and reviews flowing smoothly as AI increases the volume of changes.

Official GitHub Actions for Redgate Flyway: bringing you faster set-up, safer deployments

Redgate Flyway is now a GitHub‑verified partner, and we’ve released a set of official GitHub Actions to streamline database deployments in your CI/CD pipelines.

These actions make it easier to:

  • Set up Redgate Flyway Community or Redgate Flyway Enterprise in GitHub workflows
  • Validate changes before deployment
  • Deploy safely with Flyway Enterprise’s policy checks and drift detection

What’s under development in Redgate Flyway

With four development teams working across Flyway, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. Stephanie Herr, Senior Product Manager, has pulled together a roundup of what’s just shipped and what’s in public preview - from multi‑project support in Flyway Desktop to PostgreSQL comment tracking, schema‑model improvements, and new preview features that make getting started even easier.

Detect risky changes earlier with code reviews in Flyway Desktop

Many teams are accelerating development with AI‑assisted coding - but review bottlenecks remain, especially for database changes where expert oversight is essential.

Flyway Enterprise already lets you define organizational policy as code and enforce it in your pipelines. Now, with our latest update to Flyway Desktop, policy‑check results are surfaced earlier in the development process.

This means:

  • Engineers can fix compliance issues before review
  • Reviewers spend less time on avoidable problems
  • Teams reduce the blast radius of policy violations
  • You get closer to realizing the full value of your AI‑accelerated development workflows
