Redgate Monitor product updates – October 2026
This month's Redgate Monitor updates take on both, with CIS-certified configuration checks for SQL Server and new cloud migration advice built on the workload history Monitor already holds. There's also a new way to see how query waits change over time, and some news from G2.
Here's what's new.
Stop proving compliance by hand with CIS-certified configuration checks* (v14.35)
Proving every server meets a security standard shouldn't come down to a manual scramble. 97% of organizations have at least two audits a year, according to A-LIGN's 2026 Compliance Benchmark Report, and in between, checking a SQL Server estate against a standard usually means working through it one checklist and screenshot at a time, or not checking at all until someone asks.
Redgate Monitor Enterprise now checks your SQL Server configuration against the Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks®, using server- and database-level templates. Every automatable check is covered across your estate, so a misconfigured setting surfaces in Monitor rather than in front of an auditor. And since CIS® has certified Redgate Monitor's ability to accurately make the checks, it's a result you can hand to an auditor with confidence.
The CIS® templates sit alongside your own in configuration compliance, so you can measure your estate against the CIS® recommended baseline, your internal policy, or both.
CIS-certified checks join a growing set of Monitor Enterprise security capabilities added in 2026, from permission change alerting and brute-force login detection to a dedicated security user role.

Move to AWS with confidence (v14.33, preview)
Redgate Monitor’s new cloud migration advice feature, available to all customers on version 14.33 or later, helps you plan a move of SQL Server instances on virtual machines to Amazon RDS. It draws on the rich workload history Redgate Monitor has already collected, so you can size your target for the workload you really have, minimize wasted cloud spend from day one and align your stakeholders around real data, all from the tool you and your team already use every day.
It’s yet another step in bolstering Redgate Monitor’s cloud capabilities, which already cover your databases on Azure, AWS and Google Cloud and show what your virtual machines on AWS and Azure cost against what they actually use, so you have evidence to work from before your move and long after it.
See how query waits change over time (v14.33, preview)
The Server overview page for SQL Server now includes a "Query waits trend" tab, so you can see the total waits for your top queries over time. When performance shifts, that makes it easier to pin down when the change started and see which queries are waiting longer.
Redgate Monitor named a Leader by G2
G2's Fall 2026 Grid Report for Database Monitoring names Redgate Monitor a Leader, with a satisfaction score of 99 out of 100, the highest in the category. G2 builds its reports from verified user reviews rather than paid placement, so this recognition comes from the people who use Monitor every day. Reviewers also rated quality of support at 91% and estimated a payback period of six months, half the category average. Thank you to everyone who took the time to leave a review.
