Introducing Flyway Insights: see the change, know the impact

Guest post

This is a guest post from Stephanie Herr.

How much of your database delivery can you actually see? For most teams, the picture is scattered. Deployment status lives in CI logs and scripts. Drift appears outside the process. And with AI multiplying the volume and speed of changes moving through pipelines, the risk that comes with low visibility rises with every release.

There's a quieter side to the problem too. If you've built a governed database delivery pipeline with Flyway Enterprise, you know something your leadership might not: it's working. Every migration versioned, every change policy-checked, drift is caught before it causes a problem in production. The reward for all that work is a stability that's easy to overlook. Customers tell us they want reporting when something goes wrong, but they also want to see when things are going right.

That's the gap Flyway Insights closes. Flyway Insights is the new name for Flyway Pipelines, our SaaS dashboard, and it brings your delivery activity together in three views. Two are in public preview today: Deployments and Deployment metrics. The third, Business value (ROI), is rolling out in early fall.

The three views

Deployments, in preview today. See your database deployments across projects and environments in one place. Check which version is deployed where, whether each deployment succeeded, and how long it took. Drift alerts are surfaced for you to investigate before they cause a problem in production.

Deployment metrics, in preview today. Five DORA metrics, calculated from your actual Flyway deployments: deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, time to restore, and rework rate. These are the metrics DevOps teams use to measure delivery performance, so trends here show progress in terms your leadership already understands, and give your team an early signal when something needs attention.

Business value (ROI), rolling out in early fall. A savings estimate built from your own deployment activity: what you're saving on deployments and incidents, and the net return, computed from the real deployment data that is pushed when your flyway pipelines run, plus a small set of inputs you control. It's a live view of the estimated business impact of governing database changes with Flyway. And if you're earlier in your Flyway journey, an ROI calculator helps you explore possible outcomes before your own deployment data is there to measure.

You choose what's shared

Nothing is sent by default. You opt each project in through the project settings, or via environment variables or command-line arguments. There are no agents to install, no extra infrastructure, and no changes to the way your team works today.

Evidence you can share

If you're the team leader who championed governed database change, these views are built for the conversations with your teams and your boss that follow. The Deployment Metrics view answers whether delivery is actually getting faster and safer. The Business Value view gives you a figure your leadership can read at a glance, live in the product and tied to real deployments. Teams feel the value of governance every day; these views make it something you can point to.

What's next

This preview is the first step, focused on delivery performance and value. We're already working on what follows, including broader estate-wide views and deeper operational insights, and we will share more as those take shape.

Try the preview

If you're running Flyway Enterprise today, or you're on an Enterprise trial, log in with your Redgate ID to see the Deployments and Deployment Metrics views now. New views appear in the dashboard as they roll out.

You can see more of what's coming on the Flyway Insights page, or sign up to our next Flyway webinar “what's new and coming in Flyway” (22nd September 2026) to watch Flyway Insights in action.

We're shaping these views with real teams, and we want your feedback. Sign up for a 30-minute session or send us an email to tell us what evidence you need to make the case for governed database change.
