CAMBRIDGE, UK, October 8, 2024 – Redgate, the leading provider of end-to-end Database DevOps, has unveiled the highly anticipated program and schedule for PASS Data Community Summit 2024. This year’s event features over 170 sessions to choose from on-site, with additional content to be added to the program over the coming weeks.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse range of topics across five different tracks, Analytics, Architecture, Database Management, Development and Professional Development. Whilst the conference has traditionally focused on the SQL Server community, as the changing needs of database professionals continue to evolve, the organizing team are adding even more cross-database sessions to this year’s schedule.
Both Microsoft and Redgate will also deliver keynote sessions during the conference, with Microsoft revealing how AI will Fuel Innovation with Azure Databases and Redgate delivering a session titled Simplifying Complexity: Making Database DevOps Work in the Real World. This is followed by a community keynote on the final day of the conference on embracing AI-driven disruption, sharing insights on Generating Innovation: Change is not Artificial, it is Intelligent.
PASS Summit’s 2024 Community Insights Survey revealed that PostgreSQL was the second most popular database of interest after SQL Server, with 37% of participants citing interest. After introducing PostgreSQL sessions to the program for the first time in 2023, PASS Summit’s 2024 program incorporates even more sessions on PostgreSQL. This year’s lineup includes a pre-con PostgreSQL Fundamentals for SQL Server Developers with Grant Fritchey and Ryan Booz on Tuesday, November 5, and a dedicated learning pathway featuring five sessions. Grant and Ryan are also launching a new book, Introduction to PostgreSQL for the data professional, at the show.
In addition, in 2024, Redgate is welcoming Postgres Conference to Seattle, as PgCentral Foundation Inc. will run their own two-day PostgreSQL-focused conference on 6-7 November, in the same venue.
“This year’s PASS Summit promises a wider range of content than ever before,” said Grant Fritchey, advocate at Redgate. “The conference team understands the complex challenges facing data professionals today and has designed a huge range of informative, hands-on and inspirational sessions for people to dive into. Bringing the data community together every year is a true joy, and I can’t wait to see everyone again.”
With the session schedule now available to view, attendees can plan each day they’ll be on-site to make best use of the huge range of educational content available. 2024 speakers include Bob Ward, Brent Ozar, Jennifer Stirrup, Deborah Melkin, and Steve Jones.
An array of sponsors have been announced so far, including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft which was recently unveiled as Sapphire sponsor. Microsoft will be delivering the first keynote of the conference on Wednesday, November 4, as well as a pre-con with Bob Ward, Anna Hoffman and Muazma Zahid on The SQL AI Workshop, plus Bob Ward will deliver a ‘brain-melting’ 75-minute session Inside the SQL Server Transaction Log during the main conference.
Microsoft also has a dedicated learning pathway, ‘Becoming an Azure SQL DBA – Advancing the Role of the On-Premises SQL Server DBA’. Additional Microsoft sessions including the breakfast sessions will be announced on the PASS Summit website shortly.
Tickets are on sale for PASS Data Community Summit 2024, which takes place from November 4-8 in Seattle. The final price bump will come into effect on October 23 and will see 3-day tickets increase by $300. Visit www.passdatacommunitysummit.com for more information.
