Security and compliance
Ensure data security and compliance with monitoring and change traceability
Location: Cambridge
In-office expectation: Hybrid
Employment type: Permanent
Salary: £45,000-£55,000
Why this role exists: To be a trusted advisor to managers, helping them navigate important conversations, build high-performing teams, and connect People Partnering with People Operations while driving continuous improvement.
Redgate brings together people who want to do their best work in an environment built on trust, accountability, and collaboration.
We build solutions that help data professionals securely manage the data and databases their organisations depend on, a space that's only becoming more critical as systems scale, data regulations increase, and AI adoption accelerates.
By 2028, Redgate will operate as an expert-plus-agent company: domain experts amplified by AI, delivering customer value at a pace our peers can't match. AI handles the heavy lifting, our people control the judgement. Everyone at Redgate works with Claude, giving you access to the best AI tools from day one.
● You'll own a caseload that matters, with real autonomy to use judgement rather than just follow process.
● You'll work closely with managers and People Partners across the business, building relationships that give you visibility into how the company really operates.
● There's a clear next step from this role into People Partnering, and genuine support to build the experience and capability to get there.
This role sits at the centre of how Redgate supports its people managers day to day. You'll own employee relations casework across the UK and EMEA, from probation reviews and absence conversations through to informal disciplinary and grievance resolution, using your judgement to know when a case needs to stay with you and when it needs to go to a People Partner. Alongside the casework, you'll be a regular sounding board for managers, coaching them through difficult conversations and building the kind of trusted relationship that means they come to you before a small issue becomes a bigger one.
● Real ownership over ER casework, with the judgement to triage and escalate as needed
● A direct line into shaping how legislative and policy change gets embedded into everyday manager practice
● Scope to design and deliver the training and communications that build manager confidence across the business
● Genuine opportunity to pilot AI and automation in People Partnering work, and see those pilots through end to end
● Solid grounding in independent employee relations casework, such as probation, absence, or informal disciplinary and grievance matters, gained as an HR or People Advisor or in a similar role
● Sound working knowledge of UK employment law, with a demonstrated ability to translate legislative change into practical, everyday guidance
● Confidence supporting managers across other territories, such as Berlin, Amsterdam, and Australia, adapting your advice to different local employment contexts
● A confident and credible communicator, able to coach and constructively challenge managers at all levels
● Experience designing and delivering training or engagement sessions to a manager population
● Highly organised, with the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload with accuracy and sound judgement
● Salary range: £45,000-£55,000
● Hybrid working: home and Cambridge office
● Monthly wellbeing allowance and generous paid time off
● Genuine investment in learning, development, and career progression
● Private health insurance
