New Feature: Photo Reverse Engineering

We're happy to announce that Redgate Data Modeler has a new feature we've been working on for some time: Photo Reverse Engineering. This is the quickest way to transfer your hand-written design sketches into Redgate Data Modeler. Draw your model on a piece of paper, a whiteboard, or a blackbord, take a photo, upload it into Redgate Data Modeler and you're done: your model is in Redgate Data Modeler.

How it works

  1. Draw your model on a board, or a piece of paper.
  2. Take a photo of the model.
  3. Upload the photo into Redgate Data Modeler. (For now, we only support PNG images.) Redgate Data Modeler analyses the photo, extracts model data and creates the database model.

The newest feature is only available in the Enterprise Account Plan.

Enjoy Photo Reverse Engineering!
