Join Redgate at PASS Data Community Summit 2025: Session Highlights

With just under 100 days to go before PASS Data Community Summit in Seattle, we wanted to share with you a summary of all the Redgate sessions you’ll be able to find at this year’s event!

Full day pre-con session – November 17, 2025

Adding PostgreSQL to your SQL Server Skill Set

Before the three main conference days kick off, we’ll have a full-day Redgate Pre-Conference session. More organizations are adding PostgreSQL to their technology stack than ever before. The challenge here is that they are not immediately replacing their existing technology. This means that more and more people need to understand both SQL Server and PostgreSQL. This session is explicitly designed to support the people who already know SQL Server in their journey to add PostgreSQL to their skill set. We’ll cover the areas of overlap between the two tool sets. We’ll also get into all the differences that can make learning PostgreSQL a challenge.

Not only will this all-day session teach you about PostgreSQL, but we’ll explore tooling, documentation, the cloud, and other resources that can help you on your journey as you add PostgreSQL to your existing skill set.

Redgate main sessions

Future-Proofing Your Database Estate: Smarter Monitoring for Strategic Growth

As database environments evolve – spanning hybrid infrastructures, diverse platforms, and growing performance demands – it’s no longer enough to monitor what’s happening now. Strategic estate planning requires a forward-looking approach.

In this session, you’ll discover how you can use Redgate Monitor to plan for the future with confidence. Learn how to leverage historical performance data, disk usage trends, and alert patterns to inform decisions around patching, capacity planning, and workload optimization. We’ll explore how to identify risks before they become issues, and how to adapt your monitoring strategy to support long-term goals.

Whether you’re managing SQL Server, exploring PostgreSQL, or preparing for a cloud-first future, this session will equip you with practical insights and tools to evolve your monitoring strategy, and manage your estate with agility and foresight.

Modern Database Development: Real-World Lessons from the Front Lines

Join a panel of seasoned database professionals and industry experts as they dive into the toughest challenges facing modern development and operations teams. From navigating monolithic legacy systems, to wrangling with the data layer in the age of AI, this session explores the real-world roadblocks teams encounter when deploying databases at scale. You’ll hear firsthand from organizations about their strategies for reducing downtime risk, managing inconsistent processes across diverse environments, and improving code quality.

Whether you’re a developer, DBA, or DevOps leader, you’ll leave with practical insights and proven approaches to modernize your database deployment practices – no matter how complex your estate.

Toolbox Treasures: 10 Productivity Hacks to Level Up Your Database Work

Whether you’re deep in SQL Server or starting to branch out into multi-platform environments, the demands on database professionals are growing. Faster delivery cycles, tighter budgets, and increasingly complex database estates are becoming the norm. In this practical session, we’ll share 10 real-world tips, tricks, and tools to help database developers and DBAs get more done with less effort.

Create and Manage Masked Databases in the Cloud for Development and Testing

The cloud is a game changer when it comes to increasing developer agility and their ability to deliver new features and value to customers. However, doing this in a way that minimizes risks with data leakage, or introducing bugs is a challenge when working with simple datasets which don’t reflect what is in production. But what if there was a way to easily take a production database and create a library of masked images for development and test to use?

In this session we will look at how we can make use of could-native functionality in PaaS database services to create and manage copies of production. Then looking at how we can mask the data before creating multiple images with different volumes of data in them. We will discuss the key challenges that need to be overcome and some ways to do it, before looking at how we can add Redgate Test Data Manager into the mix to simplify and speed up the process.

Build a Secure Dev and Test Pipeline in 60 Minutes with Redgate

Rising data privacy regulations coupled with the need for speed, mean delivering high-quality software quickly and securely is non-negotiable. This session will show you how to build a secure, compliant, and high-performance dev and test pipeline in just 60 minutes using Redgate.

With a live demonstration and practical guidance, this session is perfect for DevOps engineers, DBAs, and developers looking to simplify test data provisioning while staying secure and compliant. Bring your challenges and your curiosity – this session is interactive, practical, and designed to deliver value fast.

Fixing What Slows You Down: Practical Performance Tuning for SQL Server and PostgreSQL

Performance issues can cripple applications but diagnosing them doesn’t have to be a guessing game. In this session, we’ll explore how Redgate Monitor helps you pinpoint and resolve the most impactful performance problems across both SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.

Whether you’re managing one platform or both, you’ll walk away with a practical, unified approach to performance tuning that reduces firefighting and boosts efficiency.

Redgate Ecosystem Sessions

We also have four 30-minute eco-system sessions which include customer case studies, making the most of your PostgreSQL tools, and decoding software purchases – a vendor-neutral guide to achieving organizational buy-in. More information on these sessions coming soon – stay tuned!
