People Operations Manager and People Partner

Redgate is growing and with people at the heart of our business, we’re looking for two senior roles to join our People Team. 

People Operations Manager

We are looking for a People Operations Manager to lead, motivate and develop a team of HR Co-Ordinators who in turn will support Redgate with the delivery of operational excellence. The role will include ensuring the smooth running of recruitment, the employee new starter experience, reward, benefits and training. You will also be responsible for providing accurate and timely reporting to aid decision making, the management of HR systems and processes and ensuring the company is compliant and is globally consistent.

Salary £45,000 – £50,000 & benefits


People Partner

This isn’t a traditional HR role – at Redgate, our People Partners are embedded within divisional management teams, so you’ll gain a really deep understanding of the strengths and challenges of the division and the management team you’ll be working with.  In this instance the Sales and Marketing divisions.

Our People Partners are closely involved in divisional decision-making, and the role is structured so that you’ll be involved in discussions from the very beginning, with the opportunity to shape and influence business and people outcomes. You’ll need to build a deep understanding of the business area you work with and forge strong relationships within the divisional management team and beyond. Understanding the people, roles, skills and goals of the division, and how this fits with Redgate’s wider goals are all key for this role. 

We’re a values-led organisation, and our focus for HR is on understanding the situation and doing the right thing (rather than following policies or introducing red tape). Our ideal candidate for this role is someone who’s comfortable working with super smart people, able to keep up with the context, challenge and debate whilst forming your own opinions and judgements.  If you’re more comfortable working from an employee handbook that has all the answers, this probably won’t be the right role for you.

Redgate’s People Partners are HR generalists, and this role covers a breadth of interesting areas. You’ll provide both strategic and operational advice on all areas of HR, including resourcing, performance, engagement, learning & development, talent management and organisational development. You’ll also be a member of Redgate’s high-performing People Team, and will play a part in achieving wider People Team objectives, including supporting or leading on strategic or continuous improvement projects.

Step 1

Step 1. Application

Step 3. 1st Interview

Step three is an interview in our Cambridge office. We’ll talk about your work history, your covering letter or video, and any assessments you’ve completed. You might also be asked to do some work-based tests and, if you’re applying for a technical role, expect technical questions – we love talking tech.

Step 4

Step 4. 2nd Interview

The second interview typically lasts two hours. You’ll be talking to different people, you may well meet people you’ll be working with, and we’ll allow time for you to ask questions. We don’t have a dress code at Redgate, by the way, so dress in whatever makes you comfortable.

If we think you’d be great at Redgate, we’ll make an offer and iron out any details like relocation issues. If we don’t think you’ll fit in right away, we’ll tell you why. Some people have taken our advice, boned up their knowledge and come back a year later and got a job. It helps.
