Flyway began as an open-source database migrations project in 2010 and today is Redgate's enterprise database change management platform, supporting more than 50 database platforms. The migrations engine the community adopted remains the core; Redgate's development since acquiring Flyway in 2019 added the enterprise layer - drift detection, rollback automation, policy-as-code governance, and enterprise support.
