Hi, are you going to support dot .net Framework 4 and if so do you have a timeframe/roadmap ? Also I see it supports 3.5 does this include sp1 ?
Thanks |

We will be releasing EH 3 this year and that will, very likely, support any new features in CLR 4. I'll get more accurate data for you...
Yes 3.5 SP1 is supported. |

| In the meantime, Exception Hunter 2 will work with .NET 4 assemblies (but all the new features of CLR 4.0 are not yet working). |

Is the status = unknown in the UI indicate that my 4.0 assembly cannot be parsed?
Is there a timeline for the EH3? |

| I'm getting the "Status = Unknown" message for my 4.0 assemblies. I can get it to parse some DLLs that I've compiled against 4.0, but most DLL and all EXE files I try come back "Unknown". |

Do you have a release date for a version of exception hunter, which supports .NET 4.0? _________________ Jakob Brixtofte

| My 4.0 assemblies are also completly ignored with "Unknown". I've found no way to get past this. |

| Do you have any timescales on when we can expect Exception Hunter to run on .Net 4 code? Been following this for a while now and there doesn't seem to have been any progress on this. Can you let us know what's going on please? |

Looks like Exception Hunter v3 with .NET 4 support is scheduled for Q2, 2011. Please see http://www.red-gate.com/our-company/about/news/ . _________________ Brian Donahue

| As with a previous poster, I get Status Unknown and cannot get past this. I’ve tried .dll and .exe, all compiled against 4.0 – no success. Any suggestions? |

It was on the roadmap in Q2 now appears to be gone. However, EH3 appears to have been released, though silently.
The support page (http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Product?p=Exception%20Hunter) shows version 3.0 in the header, but it does not seem to be listed under the .NET Developer tools in the products area.
This page (http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Content?p=Exception%20Hunter&c=Exception_Hunter\knowledgebase\eh_limitations.htm) says new versions aren't being sold any longer but you can get v3 if you a have support contract and use Help/Check for Updates in EH2.1.
The .NET Dev Bundle download still only provides EH2.1.
It looks like EH3 may be retiring soon or is some sort of interim release to provide basic .NET4 support, possibly, until it can be revamped to remove some of the limitations mentioned in the KB article. Hard to say at this point. |

Hi,
I can confirm that EH3 has been released, and contains .NET 4 support.
Unfortunately, because of the number of new exceptions in .NET 4 and WPF, we have had to retire Exception Hunter. You can find the announcement at http://www.red-gate.com/products/dotnet-development/exception-hunter/
The .NET Developer Bundle download does not contain Exception Hunter for serial numbers issued since 15th June 2011 (serial numbers starting 516). If you have an older serial number (starting 508), the bundle contains Exception Hunter 2.1. _________________ Dominic Smith,
