Course overview

This was originally a free weekly course to get you started developing reports with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and is now available here as on-demand videos for you to work through at your own convenience.

SSRS is a component of SQL Server that has been around since 2004, and it has evolved over time to become a feature-rich reporting tool. While other tools like Power BI have become popular for dashboarding, many companies rely on SSRS for paginated reports within their organizations. Each class features demos introducing the concepts and homework assignments so that students can practice what they have learned.

The course covers:

  • Introduction to SSRS, tools, and setup
  • Data sources, datasets, and your first report
  • Parameters
  • Grouping
  • Interactive report features
  • Visualizations
  • Deploying and managing reports

The course is being taught by Kathi Kellenberger, a Microsoft Data Platform MVP and the author of Beginning SQL Server Reporting Services. Kathi has worked with SQL Server for over 20 years and with SSRS since it first became available.

Each session is approximately one hour in length and no registration is required,
