OK dude, cut the bull – where *IS* SQL Prompt 3?

I’ve recently become conscious of how much I’ve started sounding like the guys over at 3D Realms who are now infamous for stating the release date of Duke Nukem Forever as “when it’s done.” They have however also provided some comfort in that the aformentioned game has been in development now for nearly ten years, whereas SQL Prompt 3 has thus far taken a mere six months. I say thus far because I’ve learned the hard way to be conservative, and it now seems impossible to believe that we could ever have thought this would be a three or four month project.

We are currently working on final bugfixes in preparation for a public release sometime in the first week of December, and absolutely, positively, definitely and without any doubt whatsoever, before Christmas. I’m telling you, if we don’t get something out by then I’m going to rip one of my arms out at the socket and beat myself to death with it. I might even sell tickets.

Thanks to everyone who has waited so patiently for this, especially those of you that actually paid for SQL Prompt 3 back in August. I cannot believe there have been so few grumbles. I’d also like to reassure you that we will never ever ever run a special offer so early in a project lifecycle again: lesson very much learned I think.

So, expect an announcement… when it’s done. No, sorry, I don’t know what came over me there: what I meant was expect an announcement imminently.
