Tomorrow, August 15, I have yet another conference where I’ll speak about MySQL’s performance. To be more exact – MySQL performance on bigger data sets. You can watch me speak via this link through YouTube – it will be fun!

What is the Software Architecture Conference?

The Software Architecture Conference is a conference organized by an online community called C# Corner. C# Corner is a community that lets all kinds of developers share their thoughts, knowledge, and experience through various forms of content. That content includes blogs, interviews, and blog posts. C# Corner is also known to release various sorts of ebooks ranging from machine learning and microservices to handbooks on cryptocurrencies such as Solana.

This year’s Software Architecture Conference features speakers from a variety of companies from Coroot and Citi to Netflix and TikTok. The speeches in the conference cover a variety of topics from AI and the best practices in building cloud-distributed systems to GraphQL and .NET. If you’re not already tuned in, I invite you to give the conference a watch – and I invite you to watch me speak at 1:10 to 1:45PM EDT, too!

My Speech at the Software Architecture Conference

My speech at the software architecture conference will be related to MySQL and bigger data sets. The exact title of my speech is “Hacking MySQL for Big Data.” My speech will cover a couple of key aspects:

  1. What do we consider big data and why you should consider using MySQL to achieve your big data goals?
  2. What does MySQL architecture look like? (Hey, not everyone in the conference will be a DBA!)
  3. What’s the role of MySQL when dealing with bigger data sets? How to force MySQL and its counterparts to work in the way you desire?
  4. Interesting things you should know about MySQL performance

Each of those points has its objectives which will be covered in the speech. The speech will be exceptionally useful for those who are thinking of building something on MySQL someday, no matter whether the project is big data-related or not. The speech will be useful for everyone because:

  • If you’re building things on MySQL, you will gain knowledge on MySQL parameters and how best to optimize them to achieve performance goals.
  • It will make you understand the architecture of the database management system on a deeper level. It will explain how to prepare your database to achieve goals related to perfomance, availability, and security even on less powerful servers.

Watch me speak at the Software Architecture Conference on 01:10pm to 01:45pm EDT!

An Upcoming Book on MySQL

My speech will focus on MySQL and it will be titled “Hacking MySQL for Big Data” not without a reason. A big part of that reason is that I’ve recently finished writing a book!

I’ve written a book on MySQL titled Hacking MySQL: Breaking, Optimizing, and Securing Your Database Instance and an early access equivalent is already available via the website HackingMySQL.com. I’m very happy about how the book turned out and you will hear more from me once the book will finally be made available to the public!

For those who would like to have a gander, excerpts from some of the draft chapters are already available on hackingmysql.com. The book structure can also be seen on the same website.

Stay tuned!
