SQL Data Compare
Walk-through 2: Performing a Row Level Restore
This walk-through will show you how to:
- Compare with a backup
- View the differences
- Use the 'Pivot view' and the 'Find' box
- View the Row Level SQL change script
Stop walk-through
Step 6: Row level include/exclude via the Actions button
Another useful navigation aid is the 'Find' box. Perhaps we know the name of a contact, Scott, whose data we know was corrupted by a badly executed query. Right-click in the differences pane and launch the 'Find' box search field. Type in the name and click the up or down arrow to bring up the row in question. Here we can see that Scott Watson's phone number needs updating. If you want to isolated this single record for synchronization you can use the Actions button in the Object pane to Include/Exclude all.
Ready to synchronize?
Hang on, wait a minute, ….
