Red Gate Software's SQL Packager selected as SQL Server Magazine Readers' Choice winner
LOVELAND, Colo., September 1, 2005 – Penton Media's SQL Server Magazine announced today that Red Gate Software's SQL Packager was selected as the best SQL Server migration tool in the magazine's annual Readers' Choice Awards.
"Few people know more about the best values in SQL Server-related products and services than SQL Server Magazine readers – the people who actually use the products and buy them on behalf of their organizations," said Dawn Cyr, senior associate editor, SQL Server Magazine, and coordinator of this year's Readers' Choice Awards program. "By voting for their favorite products and services, our readers have recognized excellence in the SQL Server market."
SQL Packager provides a solution to a common problem: packaging and deploying new or locally or at remote sites. It is written in Visual Studio .NET and runs on the .NET framework. Databases are packaged as a .NET executable that can be distributed to any machine running the .NET framework and Microsoft SQL Server.
"Our goal is to create affordable tools that automate and simplify development tasks," says Simon Galbraith, Red Gate's marketing director. "This award, from the developers and DBAs who use the software, confirms that we are on the right track."
A 14-day, fully functional trial version of SQL Packager can be downloaded from the Red Gate website. SQL Packager starts at $490 for a single-user license.
