SQL Backup and Restore Bundle Combines Red Gate Tools with HyperBac Technology

CAMBRIDGE, UK, August 11, 2010 -- Red Gate has released the first comprehensive backup and restore bundle that combines Red Gate tools with HyperBac technology. The new SQL Backup and Restore Bundle is available from USD$995 per server, with volume discounts available.

Live databases from backup

The newest tool in the SQL Backup and Restore Bundle is SQL Virtual Restore, based on HyperBac technology. SQL Virtual Restore enables users to mount a live database directly from a SQL Server backup, without having to perform a physical restore.

All objects in the mounted virtual database are visible and available, so users can perform smart object-level recovery from a fully functional, transactionally consistent database. The live database mounted by SQL Virtual Restore also carries a near-zero additional storage footprint and can be used in tandem with the two backup tools in the SQL Backup and Restore Bundle to verify backups.

Two backup options

For the first time in a bundle, Red Gate is offering flexible licensing for SQL Backup Pro and SQL HyperBac, enabling users to choose the most appropriate backup compression tool for their environment.

Both tools deliver high-performance compression and encryption for SQL Server backups. The key differences are how the backups are done, where the tool sits on the server, and extra benefits such as job management, network resilience and log shipping provided by SQL Backup Pro.
