Red Gate's new Exchange Server Archiver: Don't believe the claims - try it for yourself
CAMBRIDGE, UK, May 07, 2009 - Red Gate Software claims that its new Exchange Server Archiver for Microsoft Exchange is virtually invisible to email end-users, works out of the box, and reduces mail store size while eliminating the need for PSTs and mailbox quotas - but not even the product's developers expect you to believe this.
"I could tell you what Exchange Server Archiver does but don't simply take my word for it," says developer Richard Mitchell. "People need to see it for themselves."
How to try it
Red Gate is making it easy and risk-free to try Exchange Server Archiver. A free trial of the full software is available on the company's web site - www.red-gate.com/products/exchange-administration/exchange-server-archiver/. SysAdmins don't need to remove archived emails from Exchange Server in order to test the archiver.
What these users say
Here are the central attributes of Exchange Server Archiver according to beta testers:
- "It's transparent to end-userse-mail is just archived automatically without them even knowing it," says Matthew Studer, MCSP and administrator for Riverside Radiology Associates.
- Secure reduction of mail store "Even if a message is deleted in a user mailbox, I know that it's being archived on another server, and I don't have issues of running out of memory space on Microsoft Exchange Server," says Studer.
- Quick and easy set-up and implementation
Four hours from initial set-up until running the first archive rule according to Thomas Stensitzki, a senior consultant for iCOMcept GMBH, a security and infrastructure consulting and custom programming firm.
"We were so impressed with Exchange Server Archiver that we've replaced our current archiving software with the Red Gate ESA; now that it's up and running it's clear this was a good move," says Rob Atkinson, head of IT for Mentorn Media / Sunset+Vine.
Once again, as credible as these guys are, don't take their word.
