Red Gate Software ranked 16th in Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 for 2006
CAMBRIDGE, U.K., September 25, 2006 – Red Gate Software, the database development tools specialist, hit another milestone today, this time achieving a place in the top 20 of this year's Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 – reflecting the company's rapid growth since it began trading in 1999.
Following on from a prestigious Business of the Year award win earlier in the year, Red Gate's inclusion in the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 represents further recognition for its many accomplishments to date, and marks a genuine breakthrough in the company's progress.
Neil Davidson, joint CEO at Red Gate Software, commented: "Getting into the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100 represents another great reward for everybody's hard work, and is testament to the continuing growth of our software sales and the Red Gate team. We want to continue developing our product offering into 2007 and beyond, and with this milestone under our belt we hope to maintain our steady growth for the benefit of our customers and the people who work here."
He added: "To be included in the top twenty is great news for us. A sixteenth-place ranking amongst our peers provides us with tangible evidence that we are doing things right."
"Our goal has always been to hire the brightest people for specific roles, from Software Developers and Usability Engineers through to Brand Managers, while our determination to offer some of the world's most thoroughly tested software products is a good indicator of the pride our people take in the work they do."
Red Gate Software was set up by school friends and Cambridge University graduates, Neil Davidson and Simon Galbraith, who began by selling an online bug tracker, which was successful in its own right, but more importantly was the platform from which earlier versions of the company's current database development tools were launched.
