Michel de Rooij is a converged communications consultant for Dimension Data, with a strong focus on Messaging and Unified Communications technologies. Starting out as a developer in 1994, Michel made the switch to infrastructure technology over the years to become a consultant focused on Exchange Server and related technologies like Active Directory and messaging in general. Michel is a BSc, MCITP, MCTS and MCSE-M. Michel runs a blog called eightwone and is active in the messaging and collaboration community. Since Exchange 2000, and the introduction of the document retention period it has been much easier to recover mailboxes, disconnect or connect mailboxes to users, and disable mailboxes. Exchange 2010 has introduced the personal archive, which adds a slight complication.
