In contrast, shared (and common) tools and processes help to shorten the ramp-up when engineers change teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-standardize-the-process-not-every-detail\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Standardize the process &#8211; not <em>every detail<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teams can work differently inside a shared deployment mechanism as long as the core process is the same.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-start-small-and-get-people-together\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Start small and get people together<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bring in your most adaptable people, run a proof of concept, and get the key players face-to-face to set things up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-codify-what-works\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Codify what works<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your processes need to survive the weakest person being on call, and sometimes that takes a benevolent dictatorship. One rogue individual, however well-meaning, can send a team off the rails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"h-ai-is-a-lever-as-long-as-strong-guardrails-are-in-place\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">AI is a lever (as long as strong guardrails are in place)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AI can help with formatting, linting, documentation, and refactoring.
