Known issues

The following are known issues with Data Compare for Oracle 1.0:

  • If you are comparing multiple schemas, they can take a long time to register
  • If a table has a unique index or constraint that is not used as the comparison key, synchronization may cause duplicate value errors
  • The following datatypes are not supported if you connect using a direct connection:

    BINARY_FLOAT

    BINARY_DOUBLE

    XMLTYPE

Supported datatypes

Data Compare for Oracle supports comparison and synchronization of the following datatypes:

  • CHAR
  • VARCHAR2
  • NCHAR
  • NVARCHAR2
  • NUMBER
  • FLOAT
  • BINARY_FLOAT

    Note: BINARY_FLOAT is not supported if you connect using a direct connection

  • BINARY_DOUBLE

    Note: BINARY_DOUBLE is not supported if you connect using a direct connection

  • RAW
  • LONG RAW
  • DATE
  • TIMESTAMP
  • TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE
  • TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE
  • INTERVAL YEAR TO MONTH
  • INTERVAL DAY TO SECOND
  • BLOB
  • CLOB
  • NCLOB
  • ROWID
  • UROWID
  • XMLTYPE

    Note: XMLTYPE is not supported if you connect using a direct connection

Datatypes not in this list do not appear in comparison results, and cannot be synchronized.

Unsupported object types

Data Compare for Oracle does not support comparison and synchronization of the following object types:

  • Materialized views
  • Nested table columns

These object types do not appear in comparison results, and cannot be synchronized.
