Product: Exchange Server Archiver
The various components in the Exchange Server Archiver system store logs and configuration files in consistent locations. These can be very helpful to us if you encounter problems.
Log files
The log files are bar-separated files that are designed to be human and machine readable. They are great information for us if you encounter an error.
The OWA Add-in, Archive Service, Storage Service, Storage Filter and User Archive Access (UAA) Service logs are located in:
The Admin Console and Outlook Add-in log files are located in:
To open the log file for a service, in the Admin Console, select the Maintenance tab. Then, right-click the service and click View Log File.

To open the folder that contains the Admin Console logs, click the Exchange Server Archiver logo in the top left corner of the Admin Console, and then click Locate Log File:

The current Admin Console log file is selected in your file browser.
Event Log (Red Gate Software)
Serious error, warning and information messages are also logged to the event log. The latest of these events is shown in the Alerts tab of the Admin Console on startup.
Component .NET configuration file
The UAA Service configuration file is located in:
For all other components, it is located in:
Controls the .NET remoting after initial installation. You are not recommended to edit this file unless you are comfortable with configuring .NET remoting.
Archive Service configuration file
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Red Gate\ESA\ESA Archive Service\ArchiveService.xml
Contains the configuration data for what, when, and how mailboxes are to be archived.
To remove all Archive Rules and copy back and tidy up tasks, and to reset the archive mode to Copy entire message, delete this file and restart the Archive Service. If you have more than one Archive Service, ensure you delete all files at the same time; inconsistencies when running multiple Archive Services are not resolved automatically.
Storage Service configuration file
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Red Gate\ESA\ESA Storage Service\StorageService.xml
Contains the location of all the Archive Stores controlled by the Storage Service.
Some of this information is also contained within the Store.xml file located within each Archive Store folder.
User Archive Access Service configuration file
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Red Gate\ESA\ESA User Archive Access Service
\UAAService.xml
Contains the data the UAA Service uses to locate Archive Stores and Archive Services.
