Like so many, we had problems with our storage space on both the data and backup drives. With both SQL HyperBac and SQL Storage Compress, we not only saved more than 1tb of disk space but we also did it without any of our users noticing anything. These products are going to be strongly recommended to our customers who are going through the same issues.

SQL HyperBac radically changed the speed of and storage needed for our SQL backups. Native SQL backup of our 80GB db was taking 2 hours, with SQL HyperBac it dropped to 23 minutes. Backup file size went from 80GB to 6.4GB. As a result of the speed, our other SQL backups finish faster and server performance is back to normal a lot faster. Couldn't ask for a better product.

We have been very impressed with SQL HyperBac so far. Achieving reductions of 75-80% in backup size and time has avoided us having to pay for extra disk space and associated backup costs from our hosting provider. The fact we have not had to change any existing backup jobs across 40 servers (approx. 200 databases) has also been a huge administrative benefit. Thoroughly recommended!

The beauty of SQL HyperBac is that you do not need to alter what you are doing. Just install the software, configure the service, and you are essentially done; no messy re-writes of backup jobs. The backup time is also significantly reduced along with the actual size of the backup file. For me, this was just what the doctor ordered, and we have deployed it across our enterprise.
Doug Johns, MCDBA
The cool thing about SQL HyperBac is that it doesn't get in your way. It runs in the background and intercepts SQL Server actions for you without you even noticing. This means you can work with SQL Server the way you normally would, without a change in your typical workflow.

There is an obvious case for compressed and encrypted database backups. They save time and money; they give security to the data. SQL HyperBac's approach is particularly valuable because it can compress and encrypt BCP files, trace files and other clutter as easily as backup files, and it can read and write files in non-proprietary compression technologies, as well as its own format, all without changing any backup scripts or procedures significantly. It is very versatile.
