High-performance compression

SQL HyperBac offers two levels of compression. By backing up to .zip or .hbc files, you can compress your backups by up to 95%. When you need to save time or reduce CPU usage on your backups, use the .hbc2 format.

Silent compression

SQL HyperBac does not require any additional changes to your existing backup techniques in order for you to compress and encrypt your backups. Simply specify the required file format for your operations in your existing native T-SQL scripts or maintenance plans, and SQL HyperBac will silently detect the operations and file format needed to apply the appropriate action.

Secure encryption

SQL HyperBac offers secure 128-, 192- and 256-bit AES encryption to prevent unauthorized access to your backups.

Zero-touch deployment.

SQL HyperBac is installed at the OS level, so no hooks into your SQL Server instances or extended stored procedures are required.

Seamless integration with native maintenance plans

SQL HyperBac is installed at the OS level and interacts with your backups as they are written to disk. This means you can configure its settings once and continue with your backup routines as normal. No command substitution is needed, as you continue to use your existing backup techniques: T-SQL, SQL Enterprise Manager, SQL Server Management Studio, BCP or DTS.

Back up to .zip files for more flexibility on restore

SQL HyperBac offers a range of file formats for your backups, including .zip, for a straightforward and flexible restore process. This brings independence from proprietary file formats, as you're able to restore the zipped backup file to any server and unpack it there, even if you don't have SQL HyperBac licensed on that server.

SQL HyperBac can also use its own .hbc, .hbc2 and .hbe file extensions to store and protect your data, or be configured to recognise other extensions, such as .trc for trace files.

SQL HyperBac supports SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 on the following platforms:

• Windows Server 2008
• Windows Server 2008 R2

Compress multiple data types

In addition to SQL Server backups, SQL HyperBac can compress the output from export/import operations, including BCP, SSIS and DTS. SQL HyperBac can also compress trace file information if you need to meet SOX compliance requirements more efficiently.
