This walk-through will show you how to:

  • Track and understand database dependencies
  • Analyze the potential impact of database changes
  • Document dependencies for reports and presentations

Step 2: Add objects to project

Add objects to project

The Add Objects to Project dialog box pops up. In the top pane, you can see all the SQL Server Instances that SQL Dependency Tracker can find on your network. Select the database you want to work from. In this instance, we are selecting LightningStaging. The bottom pane shows you the objects present in this particular database. You then need to select the objects you want to add to the project or, alternatively, you can click on the Select All button. Here, we have chosen only to work with tables. Simply click on Add Selection to Project. Please note that, to keep this walk-through simple, this database contains only one table, called CustomerCards.
