SQL Packager
Walk-through: Using SQL Packager
This walk-through will show you:
- Packaging an upgrade to a database
- Generating the upgrade SQL script
- Adding custom info for the end-user
- Packaging as a .EXE file for distribution
Stop walk-through
Step 9: Naming and saving your package
You can now give a name to your package (alphanumeric characters only) and a location for saving it. If you are distributing the upgrade to a third party it can often be useful to include extra information e.g. a versioning number or comment. You can add that by clicking the 'Extra Packager Info' button.
In this dialog you can choose whether to use compression on your package (up to 90% can be achieved in many cases) and whether to run the executable file straightway after compiling.
