Step 5: Deploying a database from scripts

Deploying a database from scripts

Deploying a live database direct from scripts is a simple procedure.

Simply select your scripts folder as the source data, and an empty database as target.

Using the Synchronization Wizard will generate the synchronization script, and also provide you with an Action Plan, detailing the order of actions as they occur.

This can save an enormous amount of time when you need to deploy a large database and order the scripts manually in the right order.

The contextual online help files (press F1) provide further advice and tips for working effectively with SQL files during database development.
