Step 5: Select backup compression and encryption options

Selecting backup compression and encryption options

This window enables us to determine our compression options. We've chosen to use the highest speed option. The Compression Analyzer can sample data for us to suggest the most appropriate level for our backup(s).

Selecting multiple threads at this stage also allows us to optimize performance of the backup(s).

It is also time to decide on whether or not to encrypt the backup. SQL Backup Pro lets us choose between 128-bit key and 256-bit key encryption, and we'll need to input a password that will be required when restoring the database.
