SQL Data Compare 8.0.2 has been released.

8.0.2 is a critical update to SQL Data Compare 8.

It contains the following fixes:
Foreign keys no longer dropped from tables not selected for synchronization.
Identity columns no longer reseeded on tables not selected for synchronization.
Projects Dialog now persists previously-used projects correctly.
High contrast mode no longer causes a crash on start up.

You are strongly recommended to install this update.

To get this update, please use the Check for Updates option available from the Help menu in the application.

As this is a critical update, why didn't the tool alert me to its availability automatically?

Minor updates shouldn't necessarily be forced on us, but if there's a critical update, wouldn't it be better to at least get the tool to let us know and give the option to install?

Hi Lee,

Thanks for your post.

Data Compare will check for any updates every 14 days and alert the user if any exist.

We don't do it every day as it would make our servers unhappy and could be annoying for users who have chosen not to get the latest version.

Hope this helps.

Alice.
