| I need to compare 2 databases using Red Gate Data Compare Tool. I just want to confirm that when I will assign Comparision Key in the Data Compare Tool, it will not make any change in the original Databases. I am assuming that it will not update original database but just want to get confirmation. |

We have already discussed this as part of a support ticket, but I thought that i would post a reply for other users.
The assignment of a Custom Comparison Key, for example when there isn't a primary key available to use automatically, will in no way change the database schema. It only applies to the SQL Data Compare project. _________________ Chris Kelly
