As a developer who's used Reflector for years, I can honestly say I am shocked by this seemingly myopic decision.
I'm even more shocked that Red Gate have £6 million in the bank (£6,101,097 at October 2010) and still can't afford to maintain the application for free!
Mind you, the private shareholders seem to have paid themselves a cool £1 million amongst them, so maybe that's why cash is tight.

I knew that they were lying... Maybe *poor* developers couldnt buy the red Ferraris in their dreams.. Oh poor guys.... So they wanna be richer by charging users for a program which they even didnt create by themselves..
Dont worry though, version 7 will be cracked in the first day that it gets released. They will regret for their decision |

I strongly object to RedGate's decision to expire v6 and force users to pay for the upgrade. A free version of a tool should remain free for as long as it works, even if the new version costs money.
However, I don't think their decision is justification for running a cracked copy of v7. If you want to run v7, you should pay for it. |

I think they should be sued for breaking valid free licenses. That should be considered a mass hack attack. |
