Hi !
I am trying to create a snapshot of my .NET4.0 application and get an error
"Arrays file has an invalid header."

Can anyone help me?

When ANTS Memory Profiler starts profiling, it creates a memory-mapped file at %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Red Gate\ANTS Memory Profiler 7\tmp*.ampd

This file is used to hold array information.

The error indicates that the file does not begin with "AMPA".

I have not got an explantion as to why this would happen. I would start with looking into anti-virus and/or security programs that may be quarantining or sanitizing the contents of the file.

When my application is started, and consumes a bit of memory, snapshots are created correctly. *.ampd file is present on disk and begin with "AMPD" (not "AMPA").
Then, when the application begins to consume a lot of (>3Gb) memory, I'm trying to make a new snapshot and get the error "Arrays file has an invalid header". *.ampd file does not exist in my %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Red Gate\ANTS Memory Profiler 7\ directory.
Run as admin and antivirus disabling not helps me.

The memory-mapped file ANTS uses has a 2GB size limit - after this it begins overwriting from the start (trashing the header). The advice is, take snapshots more frequently.
