For purposes of allowing Red Gate Access over an SSL VPN. This is for both SQL Compare and Data Compare.

Hi xpro12,
SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare will attempt to connect over the ports you have configured access to your SQL Server. By default microsoft has configured SQL Server to run on port 1433. There is also the following article if you will be using an encrypted connection:
