Just curious to understand if I can mount my SQL Server from a full backup or if that is a separate product (I see that it is) that is needed for this functionality to be made available to my version of SQL Backup.
Thanks!
P.S. We have a mixed environment of both 6 and 7 so is it built into one and not the other? Or is it available to both versions? |

Hi SQL_ME_RICH,
SQL Virtual Restore is a separate product using the HyperBac Technology. The product allows you to mount a virtual database using a backup file, so when you query the virtual database the data is read from the backup file.
Using SQL Virtual Restore you can mount your virtual database using native SQL Server backup files or SQL Backup V6 and V7 backup files.
Many Thanks
