Can a comparison filter file, e.g., MyFilter.scpf, which was created in and written by SQL Compare 10.x be opened and used successfully by SQL Compare 9.x?
I am confident that the filter files are forward compatible: a file written by 9.x can be used by 10.x. But, does it work the other way?
If not, are there specific features that only work in 10.x? |

Thanks for your post.
Off the top of my head, I'm not sure - are you actually encountering a problem or were you just enquiring?
We've added the ability to use filters to SQL Source Control now but I don't believe the underlying filter format changed.
I just created a filter in v10 and could open it in v8, but there may be some scenarios where it doesn't work - if this is the case, you'll probably need to create the filter in v9 directly.
So it looks like it should work- but please do post back if you're stuck. |
