SmartAssembly 6.5 has been released

We are pleased to announce the release of SmartAssembly 6.5. You can get it now from http://www.red-gate.com/products/dotnet-development/smartassembly/ We will also offer SmartAssembly 6.5 to existing customers via the Check for Updates mechanism during the next week.

This version includes a substantially rewritten engine, improved performance (for some customers), logging, more command-line options, and numerous bug fixes. This version also provides support for assemblies using the Windows Phone 7.1 RTM and Silverlight 5 RC.

Please note that SmartAssembly 6.5 does not work with .NET 1.x main assemblies (but dependencies can target .NET 1.x).

SmartAssembly 6.5 requires .NET 3.5 to run.

SmartAssembly 6.5 is a recommended update for all users of SmartAssembly 6.1 and 6.2, except for customers using SmartAssembly with .NET 1.x main assemblies.

We are aware of a small number of bugs in SmartAssembly 6.5.0 and 6.5.1, which affect a few users. The main bugs relate to problems using generic type arguments and an InvalidCastException when using long ldarga, starg or ldloca arguments.

We have just released SmartAssembly 6.5.2, which corrects these bugs. If you have had problems using SmartAssembly 6.5.0 or 6.5.1, please click 'Check for Updates' in the SmartAssembly UI to download the new version. If you have not been affected by the bugs, there is no need to update manually. You will receive SmartAssembly 6.5.2 via Check for Updates automatically in the next 2 weeks.
