When comparing snapshots with memory profiles 7, the Summary screen shows 20,52MB unmanged memory in the .NET and unmanaged memory section. Can somebody explain me what this is, and if I can prevent it?

Hi,

If you only have 20MB unmanaged memory, this might not be a problem because some unmanaged memory is used by the .NET runtime itself.

Please see the help topic 'Checking unmanaged memory usage' for more information: http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Content?p=ANTS%20Memory%20Profiler&c=ANTS_Memory_Profiler/help/7.0/amp_unmanaged_use.htm&toc=ANTS_Memory_Profiler/help/7.0/toc1286225.htm

Thanks for your fast reply.
I shall read the article. Thanks!

The reason I've asked, is that the software needs to run on a Windows terminal or citrix server so the memory usages should be as small as possible
