|
|
Hi There,
I was following the tip put up by Red Gate here to reinstall a database.
However the presql script is NOT run if the supplied database name already exists. My plan was was to use presql to backup and drop any exisiting DB. Frustratingly presql seems incapable of doing this.
So any ideas? I really don't have to add yet another script to the installer
Thanks,

Thanks for your post.
I think this can be classed as a bug with SQL Packager 6. The pre SQL Script should have a chance to run before the package validates if the database already exists or not.
I've now logged this in our development database under the code SPA-513.
Once it has been reviewed by the developers, we can let you know if/when it will be fixed.
Thanks for letting us know about this. _________________ Chris |

| Have there been any updates on this? I don't want to delete and backup the DB I just want to leave the DB in place and run the scripts over it? |

The issue with "/presql" scripts has been addressed internaly, and we have a private, untested build available. If you need the update for this reason, please contact support@red-gate.com.
