The installer fails with a MSI Error code ???? (sorry, lost the screen cap by the time I'd fixed the problem, and I'm not going to uninstall just to repro
The installer by default offers to install into C:\Program Files\Red Gate\SQL Dependency Tracker 2.
Asking the installer to install into C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Gate\SQL Dependency Tracker 2 also fails.
However, creating an empty "SQL Dependency Tracker 2" directory under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Gate\" allows the installer to succeed.

Hi Bernard,
Can I double check that this was a fresh install and not an upgrade? I am guessing it was a fresh install as it's Windows 7. I have performed a few test installs on Windows 7 and although it does specify Program Files as the installation folder it does actually install into Program Files (x86) successfully. What user was the Toolbelt installer being run as? A user in the Administrator group or the actual Administrator?
Thanks, _________________ Matthew Flatt

I tried upgrading (The PC was upgraded from Vista to Win7).
I then uninstalled all of the Red Gate programs, and kicked off a new install.
Toolbelt was run as a user in the Administrator group, by right clicking, and choosing run as Administrator. |
