The product looks great. I have a couple of questions.
First how do the archived messages work if you are using a smart phone like a Blackberry or a Windows Mobile device?
Second what happens if you have an employee that leaves the company or is terminated, the AD account and mailbox are deleted, then for whatever reason the company hires this person back (We have had this happen). You recreate the account and mailbox is there a way to re-associate that user’s archived email or is it just permanently in the archive?
Thanks,

I'm guessing most of the time this won't be an issue, since with reasonable archive rules (older than 30 days, for example), most messages that mobile users look at won't have been archived.
However, if they do look at a stubbed message, it will show the first part of the body (the amount here is configurable, by default 100 characters), then a link to view the full message on the UAA Service web site. By following that link, they'll be able to view the entire message even on a system without any add-ins installed.

If you haven't actually purged the mailbox in Exchange, and simply re-attach the user to the existing mailbox, it should all just work perfectly - we link the archived messages to the mailbox, and then check that the AD user has permission to that Exchange mailbox.
Hope that helps,

Hello
Just in regards to your response regards to re-attaching the archiving service to a mailbox?
What happens if a mailbox in exchange is renamed due to a new employee taking over a role from someone else? When the mailbox is renamed would the Message Archiving service still carry on working with that mailbox or would it have to be reapplied to that mailbox from scratch?
Thank you. |

Hi,
In the release version, we tie archived messages to the Exchange mailbox GUID they were archived from. If the mailbox is renamed, the GUID stays the same, so you keep access to the messages that have been archived.
If you created a new mailbox with the previous name, that would obviously be a different Exchange mailbox, and so having permission on that mailbox would not allow you to access messages archived from the old mailbox.
I hope that makes sense, and answers your question - let me know if not!
Thanks,
