Hi,

will there be an update for VS2008?

And also some new features that would be great:

. an offline version as it seems that it is not possible to get any prototype when disconnected from the web

. a wonderful enhancement : provide a system based on Reflection for proprietary dlls

Bye.

Hi Ryan,

Sorry I forgot to mention this -- pInvoke is compatible with VS2008, it's just a matter of making a small change to the addin file as described here. We shall look at making this change in a future version and release it once it's been officially tested against 2008.

Hi Ryan,

With reference to your suggestions (thanks!):
- an offline version is something we have considered in the past, but most people now have "always-on" interenet connections, and the benefit of the site as a community edited wiki means that having the latest version really is valuable Smile
- Unfortunately unmanaged DLLs don't, as a general rule, contain enough information to automatically generate the p/invoke signatures - I agree it'd be a useful thing to do, but there just isn't the information there to construct them - which I guess is why .NET doesn't do it for you itself!

Thanks for the comments though - always much appreciated.

Cheers,
Robert
