Can't Choose Which Assemblies to Decompile

Hello,

For some reason, when I select assemblies to decompile, I can select the DLL's, but I cannot click the OK button; I click OK and it sits there and never commits the change. I can click it over and over again, but the form doesn't go away and it doesn't take my selections. So right now, this feature is useless for me.

Has anyone experienced this? I'm going to try to repair the installation...

EDIT: Repair didn't help anything. It's still not working. OK only works when I unselect all entries.

Hi...
I want to decompiler dll file into source code
and i use net reflector 7 trial version..
and download file generator add-ins

but i can't install add-ins
this is the error message :

As someone that used reflector (albeit infrequently), starting several years before Lutz sold it to you, I would consider myself an existing user. However, by your definition I'm not and the free v6 version is not available to me. This comes about due to the fact that I have already had my copy uninstalled when I declined an upgrade since your initial announcement of there no longer being a free version. This leaves me without reflector installed and thus no way to take up your offer of the free v6 version. I'm sure there must be many other existing users that find themselves in the same position. What recourse do we have if we would prefer to stick with the free v6 over buying v7?

RedGate prompt on opening VS solution

Hello, I get the following message every time I open an instance of Visual Studio or solution. I have uninstalled all instances Red Gate software but still get the message. Selecting "YES" or "NO" launches a browser to the Red Gate Reflector order page.

Hi.

I know how to edit these files. I've lost a number of sources so I had to rebuild so I can pretty much change whole assembly now.
But, I have one app that I cannot replace the resource. App is C# of course.

There are .baml files and even some pngs and gifs. I managed to replace pngs before but here I cannot. Why? Is it because of PinnedMemory thing?

It's a good idea and I think the difficulty is in line 5. In order to map from an IL instruction to a line of code you need to have a pdb file. This pdb file is tied directly to the source code.

If you have a pdb file that the original C# compiler generated, then when Reflector generates the source there is no guarantee that it matches the structure of the original C# - for example, there may be extra newlines etc, so the line number may well be wrong.

Generating a pdb and source together is what the Reflector Pro engine does, but this functionality is not exported via the Reflector API.

Possible to use Reflector at run time?

If this were possible, it would be a tremendous boon to my team's development.

While our software is in beta, any unhandled exceptions are recorded and logged. I use the stack trace, session/form/cookie data (it's a web application) and log everything.

Could I do something like this:

1. Catch the exception.
2. Get the stack trace.
3. Get the stack frames.
4. For each frame, use Reflector to disassemble, at run time, the source code associated with the frame.
5. Use the GetFileLineNumber method of the StackFrame object to highlight the offending line of code.
6. Log the whole thing for review.

Anyone know if such a thing is possible?

It is really INCREDIBLE !

Right now .NET Reflector did an automatic update to version 6.6.0.30 and this old bug is NOT fixed !

3 months have passed by and nothing happened!

This explains why the quality of Relector is quite bad: Lots of bugs and even crashes are usual.
The explanation is: Nobody fixes them.

So what is the sense of this forum ?
People can post bugs here but they are ignored.

In the old times of Lutz Roeder the quality was much better.

Reflector plugin Converter

Reflector 7 has changed its assembly version (previously 5.0.0.0, now 7.0.0.0), so that lots of plugins fail to load, but without any plugin API changes.
Here is a simple tool to patch all references to Reflector assembly with custom version, so you don't need to get the plugin source code and recompile.

Tested with Reflexil 1.1, BamlViewer, Graph, CppCli.
