Can you please locate the SQL Connect log files normally available in this folder, C:\Users\<user_name>\AppData\Local\Red Gate\Logs\SQL Connect 1, and send an e-mail to support@red-gate.com, include the above call reference number in the subject field of the e-mail and attach the log file or files to the e-mail message?

I have looked through previous support calls, thus far you appear to be the first user to reported this type of error.

Slow performance vs2012.1

Hello and thanks for the great tools!

I wanted to give some feedback and/or see if i am not alone in this.

I have a rather large db of 20k+ objects (tables, views, sp's, function's,schema's, etc..)

When i have this in my solution, scrolling the list of tables, views, proc's etc, its so slow that its not even worth scrolling. In fact the only way i can use it, is utilizing the search box in the solution explorer.

Is this whats expected? I didn't think the scrolling would be such drain and its not for the SQL Server Database Projects i have in the now.

Spec for my comp:
i5-2500k 3.3ghz
8gb ddr3 1600 ram
hard disk - sandisk ssd 240gb.
gigabyte motherboard.

Its a screamer and my large solutions load in about 15 secs, so the performance hit i seen was not expected, but maybe its something i did? or is this expected?

The issue referred to in this thread turned out to be Visual Studio running slowly, not a crash. Additionally, we did not recieve the stack dumps from the customer so we could not isolate the problem at any rate.

If your Visual Studio is showing an error dialog, please contact support at red-gate.com via email and attach the error and any other relevant information you may have.

When loading a visual studio 2010 Solution with approximately 16 projects, the solution hangs and sometimes crashes on load when it reaches the SQL connect project.

Hi

Just installed your product. Can't ctrl-click to navigate to a called procedure when inside the editor. Would have thought this was an obvious feature so wondering whether I'm missing something??

Also would like a key combination that takes me to a stored proc in the project. Tried ctrl-T or ctrl-shift-T and they work when not in the editor but not when in the editor. Any help on this one also appreciated.

Hi, thank you for your post into the forum.

Unfortunately SQL Connect and SQL Source Control are two independent products, whilst they can share database repositories and they do not share any configuration settings.

SQL Connect has no concept of filters and does not have the same feature set of SQL Source Control. If you wish to request a feature, please submit it via the SQL Connect Uservoice Forum via this LINK.

I believe that you may have already submitted a feature request as per this TOPIC. Hopefully other SQL Connect users will vote for this enhancement so it can appear in a later version of SQL Connect.

Can SQL Connect use filters defined in SQL Source Control

I have filters set up on my SQL Source Control project that will prevent any new users and roles from being identified as changes in the database that need to be saved to source control.

When I used SQL Connect, all those changes are picked up and synchronized.

Hoping that there is a way to avoid this.

In this version of SQL Connect, migration scripts are not supported as they are in SQL Source Control. This may appear in a future version of SQL Connect.

Pete,

Any updates on this? It's been nearly a month since the release of VS2012. Surely you can't be asking people to pay good money for a product that doesn't function with the current version of VS?
