Hi sognibene,

We've opened up a ticket for you and will be in contact shortly. In the meantime, you can find the log files for SQL Source control here: YOURDRIVE:\Users\YOURUSERPROFILE\AppData\Local\Red Gate\Logs\SQL Source Control 3

Thanks,

RE: Unable to connect to TFS 2010 ICredentialsProvider Error?

i followed these instructions to no avail:
http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/content/knowledgebase/SQL_Source_Control/KB201301000525

And then ended up changing my windows password (which may have recently expired), and the 'ICredentialsProvider is unset, therefore can't get' error went away.

Thanks for your post.

I created a very trimmed down view still containing lag/lead based on your example and it seems to work OK based on a quick commit / get to a different database.

What version of SQL Source Control are you working with? Are you able to supply the relevant table definitions needed by your example view so I can come up with a full working example? (please feel free to mail these to support@red-gate.com quoting F0074030 in the subject line if so)

RE: Bug: Table disappear from the object explorer

Hi,

Here is the brief summary of my settings.

OS: windows 2008R2
SQL: Microsoft SQL 2008
SQL Source Control Installed: 3.4.4.36
SVN: TortoiseSVN 1.7.10

I have a batch file to deploy two different databases and both databases are linked in the shared database development mode. Here is what I have been experienced.

1. First run, there wasn't way detection after the deployment. No blue dots showing on object explorer. Only two green icons are showing for the linked databases and these databases are linked to SVN repository.

2. I tab back and forward between "Setup" and "Commit changes" under SQL Source Control. Then it finds out the pending changes on the first databases as blue dots in tables and stored procedures. Even tough my SQL batch contains the changes of the schema and data for both databases, it picked up and showed blue dots only in the first database. I was able to make the first check in into the first database. but there is no sign or blue dots on the second databases at all.

3. I reboot the server and tried to deploy from the batch file. Now, both databases are showing changes in blue dots. So, I clicked "Commit Changes" tab. Then, all the blue dots are disappeared all of suddent. Never coming back. even though I restarted SSMS or refresh.
Then, I did the same attempt to the 2nd databases to check in and those blue dots are gone again after tab to "Commit Changes".

any ideas????

Allow me to post my own fix...

I log into the sql server sometimes as a user, the other times as myself (windows auth) which has full server rights.

I'm able to commit using the more restricted user. No idea why, but now I know the fix.

Hello,

Thanks for the log files - can I get you to check if Windows has any TFS credentials stored in the Windows Credential Manager? If so, can you try clearing those and see if SQL Source Control still prompts you for credentials repeatedly?

I checked the Migrations tab and there are two scripts listed. Both of them are valid. I looked through all the code in both the SQL files and there were no commands that affected any users.

I hadn't patched SQL compare in a while so I am going to restore a new copy of my database and try again. If I can reproduce the problem is there a log file I can send in that might be helpful?

RE: Bad performance and incorrectly included items on Get Latest

SQL Source Control is apparently trying to pull in a "migration script" as part of the "get latest" operation. Can you visit the Migrations tab and see if there's anything there that shouldn't be? If you find something, try deleting it and trying again. However, it's a little strange that it's apparently not got a valid file name. You could try looking at the migrations folder in source control and seeing if there's anything suspect in there.

Failing this, unlink your database and relink it without setting the migrations folder and try the get latest again.

Migration scripts are used when you want to customize the behavior of SQL Compare's comparison and sychronization engine.
Could I get you to send in your log files? You can find those in %localappdata%\Red Gate\Logs\SQL Source Control 3\ - if you could send some recent ones to support@red-gate.com and include the ticket number F0073949 that'd be really helpful - we're trying to figure out what might be causing this and the logs would help a lot. Thanks!

Bad performance and incorrectly included items on Get Latest

Hello,

I have SQL Source Control 3.4.2.61 running against TFS 2010 and SQL Server 2012 SP1 with the latest CU installed. My SQL Server is local on my workstation (quad core, 14GB RAM) and TFS is on the network.

I am trying to get the latest "Filter" from source control. When I select only the filter and click "Get latest", the SQL Source Control "Retrieving changes from source control" hangs and uses 100% cpu for several minutes.

I then get a "Warnings" dialog that includes among other things a High warning that a deployment script with no name ("") will be used, and then it says it will drop a user and three schemas.

Why would this happen when I am just trying to get the updated filter?

Thanks.
