This is annoying to the point that the software is unusable!

Dear All,

We are through with REDGATE source control except source control of the ssis packages.

Our one the big enterprises is willing to know how to source controll the SSIS packages present in the SQL SERVER Package store.

We have learnt to source control SSIS packages using ANKH SVN in BIDS.
Apart from this, With red gate how we can accomplish the task of SSIS packages source control.

Kindly guide us.

Awaiting for the reply.

Thanks in Advance.

RE: BUG: Table disappears when changes are made

Is there any progress on this?

I'm using 3.1.0.4829 and this bug is still there, the table disappears from the object explorer, if i refresh the table list it appears but then disappears again after a few seconds.

Here is a quick video of me demonstrating the problem:

http://www.heavencore.co.uk/filehub/uploaded/RedGateSourceBug.wmv - right click, "Save Target As..."

It's driving us bonkers and until this is fixed our other developers are relunctant to purchase the source control addin!

How to connect to TFS (2010)

I'm having some issues connecting to TFS

I have visual studio 2010 and visual studio 2012 both are connecting to TFS without issue and getting projects.

But when i enter the TFS url in Sql Source control and click browse I dont get any options to enter username and password for TFS I simply get a error message saying

ICredentialsProvider is unset, therefore can't get

Can anyone assist with this please?

RE: Support for Team Foundation Server Work Items

We honestly would have expected to have put in this feature by now, but various circumstances have conspired against us.

The v4 release will be focused on improving the team collaboration experience, and I'm hoping it will not only be about browsing work items, but also exposing these in relevant parts of the UI so it will be easier for all to see the intent behind a particular historical change to your database.

Hi David,

That's painful for us particularly as this promised feature was key to my decision to move my team to RedGate tools.

I appreciate you're honest reply and thanks for responding quickly.

We hope to add this feature in SQL Source Control v4. The downside is that this is unlikely to be released before 2013 due to resourcing constraints.
Common Peter, an update please.

I bought this product for my team with the promise that this was in the pipeline and near delivery. Any chance of a Work Item GUI interface soon?

Thanks for the feature request. Would you be able to vote for this here:

http://redgate.uservoice.com/forums/39019-sql-source-control/suggestions/1114089-database-diagrams

Hey how's the outlook on this feature? I would definitely love to see this ability added. It's the only reason I still end up creating database backups manually. I'd like to just be able to have it all done in one shot in SQL Source Control.
Let me know if this is something on the radar or not. Thanks!

There was a serious error parsing the file...

I get the following error when opening the 'commit changes' or 'get latest' tabs in the SQL Source Control window. I don't use any SVN client outside of SQL Source Control. I downloaded Tortoise but it said the version was incompatible and I'm not sure which is. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently on version 1.1.0.19 (I know I need to upgrade)

There was a serious error parsing the file "C:\Users\amaugh\AppData\Local\Red Gate\SQL Source Control 1\WorkingBases\rz5r33uf.w5m\Tables\dbo.Subscriptions.sql".
To resolve this issue:
1.	Open the affected file.
2.	Edit it to ensure the SQL is valid.
3.	Commit the changes without using SQL Source Control. For example by using Tortoise SVN, or Microsoft Team Explorer.
4.	In SQL Source Control, click Refresh.
For more information, click Show complete error message.

RE: Bug: Permissions against schema

Hi all,
My interpretation of this message is that the underlying source control system has a conflict that cannot be resolved by SQL Source Control - it's the type of conflict the underlying source control system has its' own methods for dealing with so usually resolving the conflicts in the source control platform itself is the way to go.

i come across the same problem. when can this be fixed?
manual fix the script won't resolved this problem, because the encoding problem.
if column contains non-acsii characters, the generated scripts will be decoded wrong.
