Am having trouble getting Performance Profiler 6.3 working under Windows 8 / IIS8.

I am trying to profile an IIS site (.Net 3.5) and I set the profiler to use the original port.

I just get 500 errors back from the site once launched.

I am running Profiler 'as Administrator'

Ideas?

Unfortunately upgrading is not an option because we didn't renew our license. I consider the issue closed since the fix is not to include pdb's which is just fine, I don't need them anyway...

This is a well known issue but I believe the very latest update to ANTS improves the situation, bypasssing assemblies thus marked (without needing to delete any PDBs). Please can you upgrade and retry?

I found a [assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute()] in the code.
However,

DELETING the PDB files worked, obviously, because I only want methods with source, so when I removed the pdb file, ANTS has no way to find the source!

I have a depency on Common.Logging.2.1.0.0 which wasn't release so I built it myself from github.

I'm getting the VerificationException Operation could destabilize the runtime. exception which I've already found on these forums.

Running IIS7 on Windows 7 .NET 4, using ANTS Performance Profiler 6.3 Prof.

I've been able to do this:
* <system.web><trust level="Full"/>
* got profiling working with method timings only
* Altered The Common.Logging dll (since I already built it myself) to include [assembly: System.Security.SecurityRules(System.Security.SecurityRuleSet.Level1)] instead of [assembly: SecurityTransparent]

The line which was reported by the exception seems stange:
Line 86: public static readonly string COMMON_LOGGING_SECTION = "common/logging";
although ANTS might be doing things there to make the line numbers all weird.

Can you try with a different profiling mode- I recommend sampling or, if possible- 'attach-to-process'.

500 - Internal server error is received every time I try to call a web method with ANTS performance profiler running..

The webservice consumption code works perfectly fine and does all of the task.. when the profiler is switched off

ANTS profiler setting :

Application type tp profile : ASP.NET web application (IIS)
Profiling mode : Line-level and method levelt timings; all methods (most detailed)
SQL and file I/O Performance
Original port (IIS will restart)

Another customer was able to resolve this issue by adding

[assembly: System.Security.SecurityRules(System.Security.SecurityRuleSet.Level1)]

to the assembly.cs file of the offending assemblies.

Hi Kira,

Your Internet Explorer may be running in protected mode, making your application start and quickly terminate. From our "Troubleshooting IIS Profiling" article (http://www.red-gate.com/supportcenter/Content/ANTS_Performance_Profiler/help/7.2/APP_cannot_start_iis):

To prevent this error:
�If possible, turn off Protected Mode in Internet Explorer before starting a profiling session.
�If you need to use Protected Mode, add localhost to the list of trusted sites, and try to profile your application again. For instructions on adding a site to Internet Explorer's Trusted Sites list, see Security zones: adding or removing websites (Microsoft).

Not able to load the application through profiler

s/w:visual studio 2010
profiler : Redgate Ant's performance profiler 6
Asp.net web application

when iam putting the application link in Asp.net application url and clicking the start profile button the application opens with a blank page(message: internet explorer cannot display webpage) and therefore profiler is unable to record the performance.
what might be the cause of this issue?can you please help me in this?

With the latest EAP version, SQL Profiling is working!
