SQL Data Compare enables you to compare and synchronize the data in two Microsoft® SQL Server™ databases. You can synchronize multiple tables whilst maintaining referential integrity. |
This is useful, for example:
You can use SQL Data Compare to compare and synchronize data in SQL Server 7.0, SQL Server 2000, and SQL Server 2005 databases.
SQL Data Compare provides an advanced set of mapping features so that you can compare any tables or views whose data types are compatible.
If your tables or views are very different, for example if data types are different, Red Gate Software Ltd offers SQL Compare, which will synchronize the structure of two databases. You can then use SQL Data Compare to synchronize the data. To find out more, visit www.red-gate.com
For an overview of how you use SQL Data Compare, see Process Overview. To see a basic comparison and synchronization, and optionally try it out for yourself, see the Worked Example.
