PInvoke.net wiki joins Red Gate Network
CAMBRIDGE, U.K., May 8, 2007 – PInvoke.net, a wiki that provides native method (PInvoke) signatures so .NET developers don't need to write them from scratch, has joined the Red Gate Network of websites for SQL and .NET professionals.
"This is a great opportunity to have the website managed and officially supported by a company that cares about .NET developers," says Adam Nathan, a Microsoft senior software development engineer who created and managed the site. "Red Gate will do a much better job than I could in maintaining the site and adding features to enhance the experience."
PInvoke.net was founded in 2004 to help developers who need to use unmanaged APIs to achieve .NET interoperability. More than 1,300 volunteers have contributed to the wiki, allowing developers to find, edit and add PInvoke signatures, user-defined types, and other information related to calling Win32 and other unmanaged APIs from managed code.
"PInvoke is a model community site, where .NET professionals contribute voluntarily to help their peers in the industry," says Tony Davis, editorial director for the Red Gate Network. "We are glad to be able to contribute to the continued vitality and growth of the site."
As part of the new arrangement, the PInvoke.net add-in for Visual Studio 2003 and 2005 is now available for free on the Red Gate Software web site. For more information, visit:
