New SQL Server and .NET site goes live

Site offers in-depth technical articles, opinions
Writers are industry insiders, published authors

CAMBRIDGE, UK, April 28, 2005 – A new website called Simple Talk went live today, offering in-depth technical articles and opinion pieces on SQL Server and .NET technologies.

The new site is offered as an industry service by Red Gate Software, but does not carry advertising or other forms of commercial sponsorship. Primary contributors are acknowledged experts in their field who have been paid for their writing and have no other affiliation with Red Gate. All articles are peer-reviewed for technical accuracy and edited for readability and consistency.

Visitors to the new site will have access to free downloads of the ebook, Best of SQLServerCentral.com, Vol. 2, a collection of technical articles considered by DBAs and developers to be the best of thousands on the SQLServerCentral.com website. Visitors can also enter a raffle for a conference pass to Tech-Ed 2005, June 6-9 in Orlando.

"The free e-book and conference pass raffle are unabashed attempts to get people to visit the Simple Talk site," says Simon Galbraith, Red Gate Software's Marketing Director. "But the ebook is a tremendous resource that offers the kind of technical rigor we are providing on the website. Simple Talk complements available media resources by providing highly detailed technical articles and opinions from the best and brightest in the industry."

Content on the Simple Talk site will be updated on a regular basis and rotated monthly, with archives of all past articles. Authors with deep technical knowledge and insightful views on SQL Server or .NET development are encouraged to propose articles by writing editor@simple-talk.com.
